Starbucks Signs Bay Area: Supporting Store Updates Across Multiple Locations

Measure Marketing WebDev

As one of the most recognized coffee brands in the country, Starbucks needs its signage to remain unmistakably consistent even when the storefront, mounting conditions, and scope change from one location to another.

Over several years, we have supported Starbucks projects across the Bay Area, typically working through national facility-management companies and local contractors on repairs, remodels, new signage, and lighting upgrades. More recently, we updated a Santa Cruz County location with a new illuminated mermaid logo and channel letters built to current brand specifications.

Project at a Glance

  • Client: Starbucks
  • Region: Bay Area and Santa Cruz County
  • Scope: Sign updates, repairs, fabrication, LED upgrades, and installation
  • Signage: Illuminated logos, channel letters, storefront panels, and graphics

Challenge: One Brand Across Different Storefronts

The finished branding needs to look consistent, but the work behind each Starbucks storefront sign is rarely identical. Existing sign conditions, storefront construction, electrical requirements, mounting heights, local permitting, and contractor schedules can all change from site to site.

That means our job is not simply to reproduce a logo. We have to understand what is already there and determine how the approved signage will work at that specific property.

Process: From Existing Conditions to Brand-Ready Signage

  1. Review the Site: We assess the existing signage, storefront conditions, measurements, access, and overall project requirements.
  2. Confirm the Scope: Determine whether the project requires permitting, repairs, replacement components, LED conversions, or coordination with the remodel team.
  3. Fabricate the Signage: Produce the required sign components according to the approved Starbucks brand specifications and site conditions.
  4. Coordinate Installation: Plan installation around access, existing construction, electrical requirements, and other contractors involved in the remodel.
  5. Complete the Update: We install the new signage, verify alignment and illumination where applicable, and confirm the finished result meets the project requirements.

Installation: Planned Around the Storefront

Before installation, we confirm mounting conditions and equipment access so we can remove and replace components safely and accurately. We remove existing components as needed, position and align new letters or logo elements, and our licensed electrician handles the electrical connections for illuminated signage. We then check the completed sign for appearance and illumination.

Results: Consistency That Carries From Store to Store

Our continuing Starbucks work spans stores in Santa Cruz County, Almaden, Los Altos, Saratoga, San Bruno, San Carlos, Mountain View, San Jose, and other Bay Area locations, each with its own storefront, mounting, and permitting conditions behind the same finished brand result.
Across remodels, lighting upgrades, and new signage installs, the objective stays the same: deliver signage that looks right for Starbucks and works for the property in front of it.
