For more than three decades, our work has gone beyond designing something that looks right on paper. A commercial sign also has to fit the building, follow the brand, comply with local requirements, move through permitting, be fabricated correctly, and be installed under the actual conditions of the site.
That is where our experience matters most.
We manage the process from consultation and site survey through design, permitting, shop drawings, in-house fabrication, quality control, installation, and post-installation support. For straightforward projects, that creates continuity. For more complicated projects involving restricted access, master sign plans, multiple locations, difficult installations, or strict brand standards, it becomes even more important.
Signs Unlimited was founded by Dennis Grundy in Northern California.
Shahab acquires Signs Unlimited, bringing a background in high-tech manufacturing, construction, operations, and business ownership.
We operate from two facilities, manufacture commercial signage in-house, manage permitting and installation, and support projects ranging from ongoing Bay Area signage needs to complex airport work and multi-location rebranding programs.
Some signs are relatively straightforward. Others have to account for brand books, architecture, existing wall conditions, city code, landlord requirements, master sign programs, electrical needs, fabrication constraints, access windows, specialized equipment, and several layers of approval. We start by discussing the business need, location, sign type, timing, brand requirements, and any known property constraints.
We take measurements and review the physical conditions that could affect design, fabrication, electrical requirements, access, or installation.
We work from the client’s brand book when one exists, coordinate with architects when needed, prepare proofs, and revise the design before sign-off.
We review applicable city and property requirements, prepare permit documentation, respond to corrections, and develop shop drawings.
Once approvals are in place, we move into in-house manufacturing and complete quality-control checks before installation.
Our team coordinates installation around the realities of the site, from standard commercial properties to elevated and restricted-access environments.
After installation, we remain available when clients need support. That continuity is one reason many of our customers return when another project comes up.
Shahab took ownership of Signs Unlimited in 2022 after building experience in high-tech manufacturing, construction, and business operations. Those disciplines influence how he leads the company.
Today, Shahab oversees Signs Unlimited with an emphasis on responsible project execution, long-term customer relationships, and maintaining the reputation the company established before his ownership.
